BAYER MATERIALSCIENCE HITS
RESIN PRODUCTION MILESTONE
Bayer MaterialScience’s Bitterfeld
facility in Germany has produced
500,000 tons of coating resin. The company
has reported that in the past
year, production has increased by 12%.
Bayer MaterialScience produces a
total of 191 coating raw materials at
Bitterfeld, including 26 developed in
the past year alone.
“We are very pleased to have reached
this major production milestone so
quickly,” said Gottfried Plumpe, member
of the board of management of Bayer
MaterialScience. According to Plumpe,
six years after Bayer’s coating resin plan
came on stream, the site produced
250,000 tons of coating resin. Four years
later, the facility has reached a volume of
a half million tons. “This extremely positive
growth is a clear indication of the
demand for our high-performance coating
raw materials,” he added.
